| I would have not sped up to get in front, in a construction zone, before the lane ended. It's not that I don't know if I should speed up, or slow down. All it takes is a slight lift of the throttle and the other car would move ahead. If I'm side by side with another driver, I have found it much easier to merge behind them, then to speed up and merge in front. He goes speeding throught the intersection, and a truck pulls in front. IF he was going slower, problem avoided. If the truck didn't pull out, problem avoided. And I guarantee that his anti-sway bars had nothing to do with avoiding a collision. The improvement in lateral g-forces with aftermarket anti sway bars is minimal on the street, with street tires.
